Football Recap: Sharyland Piles Up the Points Against Porter

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sharyland had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They breezed past the Porter Cowboys to the tune of 56-7. The matchup marked the Rattlers' most dominant win of the season.

Calvin Harris produced another solid effort throwing for 278 yards and four TDs while completing 91.7% of his passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Sharyland's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Abram Carrasco, who gained 150 total yards and a touchdown.

Sharyland was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 241 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 241 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Sharyland pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.3 points over those games. As for Porter, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

As of now, neither Sharyland nor the Cowboys have any future games scheduled.
