Basketball Recap: Arcadia Comes Up Short

If Arcadia was riding high fresh off their 68-28 takedown of Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Arcadia Raiders took a 54-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Croix Central Panthers on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Panthers are ranked 61st).

Arcadia dropped their record down to 12-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for St. Croix Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arcadia will take on Durand-Arkansaw at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Croix Central, they will challenge Baldwin-Woodville at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Baldwin-Woodville sitting on four straight wins and St. Croix Central on ten.
