Volleyball Recap: Fort Lauderdale Falls Short of West Boca Raton in the Playoffs

Fort Lauderdale and West Boca Raton squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Fort Lauderdale had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Bulls. The Flying L's have struggled against the Bulls recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

West Boca Raton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ozum Oztas, who had ten digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Oztas a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Maldonado, who had 19 assists and four digs.

Fort Lauderdale's loss dropped their record down to 6-18. As for West Boca Raton, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-12 record this season.

Fort Lauderdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Boca Raton, they will square off against Deerfield Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
