Basketball Game Preview: Granville Blue Aces vs. Licking Heights Hornets

Granville and Licking Heights are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Granville Blue Aces are taking a road trip to challenge the Licking Heights Hornets at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Wednesday, Granville beat Lakewood 42-34. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Aces.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Licking Heights). They claimed a resounding 73-30 win over Newark Catholic. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-12.

Granville's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points per game. As for Licking Heights, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Granville skirted past Licking Heights 50-47 when the teams last played back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for Granville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
