Basketball Recap: Salmen Spartans vs. Pearl River Rebels

There's no place like home for the Salmen Spartans, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They breezed by Pearl River at home to the tune of 69-36 on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Salmen, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Destiny Bennett was her usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendal Thomas, who scored 11 points along with eight assists and three steals.

Salmen pushed their record up to 14-15 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points per game. As for Pearl River, their loss dropped their record down to 18-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salmen will take on the Cavalier at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pearl River, they will be playing at home against the Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Mt. Hermon has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15.
