Football Game Preview: McCrory Jaguars vs. Izard County Cougars

The McCrory Jaguars are taking a road trip to take on the Izard County Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

McCrory is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Friday. They lost 32-12 to East Poinsett County.

Meanwhile, Izard County played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Cross County 53-6. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-6.

Despite the defeat, Izard County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Benaiah Spray picked up 137 receiving yards and one TD.

McCrory now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Izard County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Everything came up roses for McCrory against Izard County in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 52-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
