Baseball Recap: Largo Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

Largo waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Pinellas Park Patriots. This was payback for the Packers, who suffered a 5-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Largo got a great performance from Brady Allan as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched. What's more, Allan gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Largo saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Victor Martinez-Morales, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Largo's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Pinellas Park, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Largo will face off against Indian Rocks Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pinellas Park, they will square off against IMG Academy White at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
