Softball Game Preview: Two Rivers Warriors vs. Simley Spartans

Two Rivers has gone 8-2 against Simley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Warriors will look to defend their home field against the Spartans at 4:30 p.m.

Two Rivers is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Hastings on Friday. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 2-1.

Mazzy Stevens spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Two Rivers saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dani Shields, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Simley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Washburn 7-5.

The win got Simley back to even at 7-7. As for Two Rivers, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Everything went Two Rivers' way against Simley when the teams last played back in April, as Two Rivers made off with a 15-4 victory. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
