Basketball Recap: Lincoln's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

Lincoln lost against Stover back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lincoln Cardinals took a 37-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stover Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 52nd).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stover to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashlyn Pinzke, who posted 15 points along with five boards and four steals. Pinzke is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Rowland, who had nine points and eight rebounds.

With the defeat, Lincoln broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-5. As for Stover, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.

Lincoln will be playing at home against Cole Camp at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Lincoln is facing Cole Camp at the right time seeing as Cole Camp is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Stover, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 62-34 victory against Prairie Home on the 18th.
