Baseball Game Preview: Brookville Blue Devils vs. Eaton Eagles

For the second straight game, Brookville will face off against Eaton. The Blue Devils will challenge the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Brookville played in-conference for the first time on Wednesday and got just the result they were looking for. They walked away with a 5-1 win over Eaton. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Nathan Waggoner made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has become a key player for Brookville: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-8 otherwise. Waggoner was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lucas Horn, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Brad Hood also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Eaton's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Brookville, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
