Baseball Recap: Melbourne Has No Trouble Against Heritage

While Melbourne put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Heritage. Melbourne blew past Heritage 7-0. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly seven runs.

Melbourne got a great performance from Sean Gates as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. What's more, Gates gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ty Aldeghi, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Bryce Conner was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

The win made it two in a row for Melbourne and bumps their season record up to 10-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Heritage, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-8.
