Kempsville had won four straight games and Rob Hughes Jr did his part to make it five on Thursday. The Chiefs put the hurt on the Kellam Knights with a sharp 35-10 victory with plenty of help from Hughes Jr, who rushed for 230 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Kempsville is undefeated when Hughes Jr posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Kempsville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jahlen Batty, DJ Hodges, and Casei Dargan picked up one apiece. Hodges has been hot recently, having also posted at least one sack the last three times he's played.
