Baseball Recap: Castro Valley Comes Up Short

Castro Valley had lost four straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 5-7 to make it five. They came up short against the Piedmont Highlanders, falling 9-3. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Nolan Cormier was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

As for Piedmont, the win got them back to even at 3-3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory they have posted against Castro Valley since April 10, 2021.

On Piedmont's side, the team relied heavily on Diego Delventhal, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Jonah Cha-Foster also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

While Castro Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
