Baseball Recap: Wade Hampton Comes Up Short

Wade Hampton had lost seven straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 7-15 to make it eight. They fell just short of the James F. Byrnes Rebels by a score of 8-7. The Generals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rebels earlier this season, when they won 5-1.

Trevin Quinn made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonas Moore, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run.

As for James F. Byrnes, their victory bumped their record up to 14-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since April 14th.

On James F. Byrnes' side, Harrison Keels was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Jake Moss was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Wade Hampton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-7 victory against Boiling Springs on the 5th. As for James F. Byrnes, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-6 win against Clover on the 5th.
