Basketball Recap: Maine-Endwell's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Maine-Endwell and Seton Catholic Central squared off in some playoff action on Sunday, but Maine-Endwell had to settle for second. They fell 70-57 to the Seton Catholic Central Saints. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Saints apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seton Catholic Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Allan Eagles, who almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine boards. The game was Eagles' third in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Rumpel, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 13 assists.

With the defeat, Maine-Endwell broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.0 points over those games. As for Seton Catholic Central, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-3.
