Basketball Recap: Dominic Trudgeon's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Boulder over Prairie View

Boulder was the 68-50 winner over Prairie View when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Boulder Panthers fell to the Prairie View Thunderhawks 72-67. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Boulder lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Dominic Trudgeon, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Trudgeon is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Cole Morrow was another key player, putting up 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Boulder smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Prairie View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Javon Brewton, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chidiebere Akotaobi, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Boulder's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Prairie View, their record is now 3-4.

Boulder will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Monarch at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Boulder knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Monarch likes a good challenge. As for Prairie View, they will venture away from home to face off against Adams City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Prairie View is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.3 points per game this season.
