Softball Preview: Towns County Indians vs. Lincoln County Red Devils
Towns County is 1-9 against Lincoln County since September of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Towns County finally turned things around against Cedar Shoals on Monday. Everything went their way against the Jaguars as they made off with a 13-4 win.
Meanwhile, Lincoln County won against Towns County back in September with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again back in September. Lincoln County blew past Washington-Wilkes 11-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Devils.
Lincoln County let Kaelyn Stacy and Kylah Turner loose on the outfield. Stacy went 1-for-3 with a triple, a stolen base, and a run, while Turner scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Stacy is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last five games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayden Glaze, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Towns County's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Lincoln County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
