11 must be Doniphan's lucky number: they beat Alton with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Dons and Donettes didn't even let the Comets on the board, marking the Dons and Donettes' second-straight 11-0 shutout. The Dons and Donettes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Not much got past Mac Jackson, who gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks to keep Alton off the board. Jackson has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Doniphan got a massive performance out of Ava Monaghan, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Monaghan has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzie Taylor, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

The win was the fifth in a row for Doniphan, bringing their record up to 11-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Alton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Doniphan will venture away from home to challenge Greenville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alton, they will take on Summersville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.6 runs per game on average), something the Comets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
