Basketball Recap: Sparks Railroaders vs. Hug Hawks

The Sparks Railroaders lost against the Hug Hawks back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Sparks had to suffer through a rough 83-47 loss at the hands of the Hawks. Sparks was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-19.

Sparks lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaoquin Tagulao, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Tagulao hasn't dropped below two steals for 13 straight games. Another player making a difference was Eli Flores, who scored 20 points along with three steals.

Sparks has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 14 of their last 16 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season. As for Hug, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sparks will take on the Colts at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Wooster focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday. As for Hug, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Incline is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
