Baseball Game Preview: St. Peter's Eagles vs. Kennedy Catholic Gaels

For the second straight game, St. Peter will face off against Kennedy Catholic. The Eagles will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Gaels at 4:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (St. Peter's has 12 straight wins, Kennedy Catholic has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Monday, St. Peter's was able to grind out a solid victory over Kennedy Catholic, taking the game 4-1.

Joe Bello made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Bello wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aaron Vazquez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Jake Levine was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

St. Peter's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Kennedy Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
