Basketball Game Preview: Hilliard Davidson Wildcats vs. Marysville Monarchs

The Hilliard Davidson Wildcats will face off against the Marysville Monarchs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hilliard Davidson is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Hilliard Davidson came up short against Upper Arlington and fell 61-52. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the Golden Bears are ranked 78th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marysville). They put the hurt on Worthington Christian with a sharp 72-50 victory on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Monarchs have posted since December 3, 2024.

Hilliard Davidson's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Marysville, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

Hilliard Davidson came out on top in a nail-biter against Marysville when the teams last played back in December of 2023, sneaking past 45-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hilliard Davidson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
