It was a proper cat-fight when Alexander Central duked it out with Hibriten on Tuesday. The Alexander Central Cougars slipped by the Hibriten Panthers 49-48. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Panthers back in January, they had to take a 63-57 loss.

Alexander Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Faith Burch out in front who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Burch a new career-high in points. Malayah Adams was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Hibriten's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Karlee Starnes, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Zoe Rector, who put up nine points and eight boards.

Alexander Central's record now sits at 14-9. As for Hibriten, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season.

Alexander Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-54 loss against Freedom on the 14th. As for Hibriten, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-61 defeat against South Caldwell on the 14th.
