Softball Recap: South Beloit Sobos vs. Harvest Christian Academy Lions
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Clinton, South Beloit was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Harvest Christian Academy Lions with a sharp 20-5 victory. The win continues a trend for the Sobos in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won nine in a row.
Whitney Schnack made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Those hits were her first of the season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Taniyah Crawford was a standout: she scored four runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Macey Lineman, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
South Beloit always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
