Soccer Game Preview: Butler vs. Providence

Butler is 0-8 against Providence since March of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. Butler will square off against Providence at 6:15 p.m. Providence took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Butler, who comes in off a win.

Last Thursday, Butler made easy work of Garinger and carried off a 6-1 victory. Considering Butler have won five matchups by more than three goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Providence unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Charlotte Catholic by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Providence can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Charlotte Catholic are ranked first).

Providence's goal came courtesy of Bella Dragone, who's now up to 12 this season.

The win made it two in a row for Butler and bumps their season record up to 6-3-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored eight goals over those two contests. As for Providence, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-5.
