Football Game Preview: Fleming Colonels vs. William Byrd Terriers + How To Watch

The Fleming Colonels will challenge the William Byrd Terriers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Fleming didn't have too much trouble with Staunton River as they won 33-14.

Fleming had a senior duo take command as Daedae Faulkner rushed for 96 yards and two scores on only nine carries and Josiah Ragland rushed for 117 yards and one TD on only 13 carries. Those rushing touchdowns marked the first that Faulkner has punched in this season.

Fleming was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 239 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Staunton River only rushed for 20.

Fleming didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Faulkner and Elijah Thomas.

Meanwhile, William Byrd's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Northside by a score of 14-7. Those 14 points were actually the fewest the Terriers have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

The win made it two in a row for William Byrd and bumps their season record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 14 points in those games. As for Fleming, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Fleming strolled past William Byrd when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 28-14. Will the Colonels repeat their success, or do the Terriers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
