Baseball Game Preview: Kermit Yellow Jackets vs. Tornillo Coyotes

Kermit is 2-8 against Tornillo since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets will venture away from home to challenge the Coyotes at 4:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Kermit managed to slip by Alpine the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Yellow Jackets lost 11-1 to the Bucks on Thursday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Meanwhile, Tornillo came up short against Alpine on Tuesday, falling 13-1. The Coyotes have struggled against the Bucks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Tornillo's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Kermit, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-13.

Kermit got the 'W' in their previous matchup two weeks ago against Tornillo by a conclusive 14-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellow Jackets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
