Ouachita Parish scored a shocking upset when it eliminated Ruston, 21-10. At the time, the Bearcats were ranked 25th in the state, while the Lions were 33rd.

West Monroe extended the longest winning streak in 5A District 2 this week by beating Pineville, 36-13. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Rebels.

Pineville's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Rebels feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Keandre Rockett has thrown for 325 yards and 4 touchdowns this season, while Ronnie Campbell has 8 catches for 148 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place West Monroe takes on second place Ouachita Parish. Last week, West Monroe topped the Rebels, while Ouachita Parish bested Ruston.

Two stand out recruits will be in the spotlight when Jerry Arledge's team and Jeff Fitzgerald's team meet this week. The Rebels features high profile senior Cameron Robinson while the Lions has Sims, a sought after senior.

Ouachita Parish was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fourth to second in the league. The Lions vanquished Billy Laird's team 21-10 earlier in the week.
