Basketball Game Preview: Colonial Forge Eagles vs. Woodbridge Vikings

The Colonial Forge Eagles will face off against the Woodbridge Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Woodbridge is facing Colonial Forge at the wrong time: Colonial Forge suffered their first home loss of the season on Tuesday and they're likely out for redemption. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 42-41 to the Bears. The Eagles were up 20-4 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Woodbridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Hylton 39-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vikings have posted since February 16, 2024.

Woodbridge's win came from a few key players Colonial Forge will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ayanna Porter, who posted eight points and nine boards. What's more, she also posted a 44% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maia Melendez, who put up 14 points and three steals.

Woodbridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Woodbridge's win bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Colonial Forge, their loss dropped their record down to 15-7.
