Game recap: Goochland High School Football Team defeats King William

GOOCHLAND, Va. - Goochland (Va.) had a comfortable lead entering the fourth quarter, but used 21 fourth quarter points to seal the 63-36 victory over King William (Va.).

The Bulldogs were up 35-18 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by Mitchell Brice in the first quarter.

Goochland expanded its lead to 18 points entering the fourth quarter. GHS's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown run.

The loss snapped the Cavaliers' 10-game winning streak.

Brice stood out for the Bulldogs in the win. The senior running back ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 14 touchdowns on the season.



King William's Freeman McPhearson played well. The senior quarterback ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to seven on the year.

KW came in surrendering 13.8 points per game this season. The Cavaliers struggled against Goochland's offense, which entered the game scoring 34.9 points per game.

Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 16-12 win for GHS.
