Basketball Recap: Brock Triumphs

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Brock had no problem doing just that on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Bridgeport Bulls 48-46. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 50-27 win the Bulls walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2019.

Bridgeport lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Pyper Newlin, who went 5-for-8 en route to 12 points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in field goal percentage (63%). Charlotte Moore was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Brock is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 24-9 record this season. As for Bridgeport, their loss dropped their record down to 30-7.

Coming up, Brock will square off against Pampa on Monday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive. Bridgeport does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
