Volleyball Game Preview: Chaparral Lobos vs. Santa Teresa Desert Warriors

Chaparral hasn't had much luck against Santa Teresa recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Lobos are taking a road trip to take on the Desert Warriors at 12:00 p.m. Chaparral will be strutting in after a victory while Santa Teresa will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, Chaparral beat Deming 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lobos.

The win didn't come easy: Deming scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-18, 26-28, 27-25.

Meanwhile, Santa Teresa faced Silver in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Desert Warriors came up short against the Fighting Colts, falling 3-0.

While Santa Teresa was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Silver's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-16, 25-23.

Chaparral's victory bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Santa Teresa, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.

Chaparral might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Santa Teresa when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can the Lobos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
