Volleyball Game Preview: Marist RedHawks vs. Oak Park-River Forest Huskies

Marist has won 24 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Oak Park-River Forest has won 24 straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The RedHawks will host the Huskies at 6:15 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Marist was able to grind out a solid victory over Joliet Catholic, taking the game 2-0. The win continues a trend for the RedHawks in their matchups with the Hilltoppers: they've now won five in a row.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Marist was: they took both sets by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-14.

Meanwhile, Oak Park-River Forest faced Lyons in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Huskies walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Lions.

The win didn't come easy: Lyons scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-21.

Marist's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Oak Park-River Forest, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
