Flag Football Recap: Calvary Day's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Calvary Day's game on Wednesday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They enjoyed a cozy 26-7 win over the Statesboro Blue Devils. Given the Cavaliers' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia flag football rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 207th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Page Stewart threw for 271 yards and three TDs. June McKenzie was her top target, picking up 73 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. On the ground, Lilee Garcia rushed for 29 yards and one score.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Calvary Day, bringing their record up to 6-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.3 points over those games. As for Statesboro, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Coincidentally, Calvary Day and Statesboro will both be playing Glynn Academy the next time they take the field. The Blue Devils will head out to face the Terrors at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Cavaliers will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
