Baseball Recap: Era Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Era got themselves on the board against Chico on Friday, but Chico never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Dragons with a sharp 13-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-1 on Tuesday.

Haygen Patterson and Gage Riley made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Patterson pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Riley pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. At the plate, Patterson earned two runs and one stolen base, while Riley got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Era is 2-1 when Patterson posts two or more runs, but 4-8-3 otherwise.

In other batting news, Caiden Mitchell was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Era's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-9-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Stevens, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Era always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive matchups.

Era's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9-3. As for Chico, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19-2.

As of now, neither Era nor the Dragons have any future games scheduled.
