Softball Game Preview: Flowing Wells Caballeros vs. Rincon/University Rangers

Flowing Wells is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Rincon/University a six-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Flowing Wells Caballeros will look to defend their home field against the Rincon/University Rangers at 4:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, Flowing Wells didn't have quite enough to beat Buena and fell 5-4.

Kristen Felix was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Yesenia Solano, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Rincon/University fell victim to Sunnyside and their airtight pitching crew last Thursday. They lost 13-0 to the Blue Devils. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 13, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Rincon/University saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jianna Cota, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

Rincon/University's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Flowing Wells, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-17.

Flowing Wells came out on top in a nail-biter against Rincon/University when the teams last played back in February, sneaking past 5-4. Will the Caballeros repeat their success, or do the Rangers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
