Baseball Recap: Everglades Takes a Loss

On Friday, the Everglades Gators came up short against the Mater Lakes Academy Bears and fell 6-2.

Everglades saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eliezer Romero, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. Those two hits gave Romero a new career-high. Gabriel Billini also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Everglades has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. The victory made it two in a row for Mater Lakes Academy and bumps their season record up to 6-2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Everglades will welcome Northeast at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mater Lakes Academy, they will be playing at home against Schoolhouse Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mater Lakes Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
