Linn County suffers third straight loss on the road

Recap: Linn County Mustangs vs. Meadville Eagles

This season hasn't been kind to the Linn County Mustangs, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They took a serious blow against Meadville on Tuesday, falling 71-26. Linn County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-9.

Meadville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mason Dennis out in front who scored 23 points along with four steals. The game was Dennis' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gauge Shiflett, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds.

Linn County's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.3 points per game. As for Meadville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Linn County will be home for the holidays to greet Mercer at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Meadville, they will head out on the road to face off against Winston at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Winston will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 482nd, while Meadville is ranked 193rd).
