Volleyball Recap: Banneker Wins High-Profile Match Against Roosevelt + How To Watch

Banneker faced Roosevelt in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Roughriders by a score of 2-0. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Roughriders recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Banneker was: they took both sets by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-14.

Banneker's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isabelle Pierre, who had eight kills, two aces, and one block. Pierre is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidyn Higgins, who had six aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Banneker was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in four consecutive matches.

Banneker's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Roosevelt, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
