Baseball Recap: J.H. Rose Starts Season with Win Against Hoggard

J.H. Rose gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Hoggard Vikings 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rampants have posted since February 28, 2024.

Parker Watson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Joyner Haddock, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

J.H. Rose has already played their next matchup, an 11-1 victory against Farmville Central on the 26th. As for Hoggard, they will take on West Bladen at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
