Football Recap: Apollo Comes Up Short

Apollo lost against Owensboro back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles took a blow against the Red Devils, falling 42-14. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

Leading Owensboro to victory were Evan Hampton and DaMarcus Ganaway Jr. Hampton rushed for 189 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per carry, while Ganaway Jr threw for 196 yards and three TDs while completing 82.4% of his passes. The Red Devils are undefeated when Hampton posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. A healthy portion of Ganaway Jr's aerial production (85 yards to be exact) went to Kingston Dillard, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Apollo's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Owensboro, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2.
