Del Norte moved up to 258 from 289 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Valley. The Nighthawks were able to move up by beating Rancho Bernardo 21-19.

Del Norte and the Broncos played the most contested game in the league this week, with Del Norte eventually emerging with a 21-19 victory. Marc Gallant ran for 110 yards in the win.

Jack Packwood made the biggest impact on defense this week as Leigh Cole's team topped Rancho Bernardo. The 5-foot-11 defensive lineman grabbed 1 sack.

Davion Fuller was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 122 yards on 11 carries as Mt. Carmel bested Orange Glen. Teammate Lucas Johnson added to the ground attack by rushing for 44 yards.

Leading Valley in both passing and receiving yards, San Marcos's Will Freed and Isiah Hennie have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-2 quarterback Freed has thrown for 1,271 yards this season, while Hennie has 46 catches for 896 yards. Gallant from the Nighthawks leads the league in rushing with 793 yards.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Del Norte takes on the Knights. As it stands, the Nighthawks are in third, while San Marcos is in first.

There should be lots of points scored when Del Norte and Coach Texler's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Nighthawks comes in having scored 159 this season, while the Knights have scored 262. Del Norte scored 21 points last week as it defeated Tristan McCoy's team.

The Patriots fell to the Sundevils 30-3 last week, the largest margin of any game.
