Baseball Game Preview: Lancaster Eagles vs. Burroughs Burros

The Lancaster Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Burroughs Burros at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.

Lancaster easily dispatched Antelope Valley on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Eagles fell just short of Castaic by a score of 6-4 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered since May 2, 2024.

Meanwhile, Burroughs got the win against Serrano on Thursday by a conclusive 12-2. The Burros might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Kanon Schiller, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Colby Bachman, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Burroughs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Lancaster's defeat dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Burroughs, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-11.

Lancaster skirted past Burroughs 3-2 when the teams last played back in February of 2020. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Burros turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
