Baseball Game Preview: Seton Catholic Cougars vs. Castle Rock Rockets

Seton Catholic is 8-1 against Castle Rock since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rockets at 4:00 p.m. Seton Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.9 runs per game this season.

Seton Catholic will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Castle Rock on Tuesday. The Cougars blew past the Rockets 12-5. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Rockets recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Jack Williams looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Ryker Ruelas was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. He is also on a roll when it comes to RBI, as he's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games he's played. Teddy Wieczorek was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Seton Catholic pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Castle Rock, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-6-1.
