Volleyball Recap: Mountain Brook Starts Season with Loss at Home

Mountain Brook unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spanish Fort Toros on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Mountain Brook started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-15, 25-21, 25-13.

Looking ahead, Mountain Brook will be taking part in a tournament against Lawrence County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Spanish Fort, they will challenge Hillcrest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
