Basketball Recap: Cave Springs Comes Up Short

Cave Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 52-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Afton Eagles. The Hornets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in January of 2020.

Afton found their leader in sophomore Aiden Victor, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. The contest was Victor's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Ricky Barton was another key player, putting up nine points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

Cave Springs' loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Afton, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Cave Springs will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Watts at 7:30 p.m. Afton has already played their next match (against St. Paul), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
