Crestwood is 0-10 against Pittston since May of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Comets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Patriots at 4:15 p.m. Crestwood is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Crestwood didn't have quite enough to beat Hazleton Area and fell 8-7.

Ella Richards made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. Alekzandria Dutko was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, while it was Pittston who put the first runs on the board on Monday, it was Wilkes-Barre who put up more. The Patriots fell 8-5 to the Wolfpack. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Samantha Herbert put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. Those hits were her first of the season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

Herbert wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gabby Gorzkowski, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Pittston now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Crestwood, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Crestwood hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .360. However, it's not like Pittston struggles in that department as they've averaged .320. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Crestwood might still be hurting after the 14-1 loss they got from Pittston in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Comets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
