Baseball Recap: Tindley Tigers vs. Eminence Eels

Tindley had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 1-8 to make it eight. They lost 15-7 to the Eminence Eels. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Eels from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

Tindley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabe Abdurrahim, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Asaph Mozee also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Eminence's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the contest before.

On Eminence's side, Lucien Beam made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 16 batters over six innings while giving up six earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Beam was also big at the plate, getting on base in all six of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Mason Setser was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Dylan Hamblen was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tindley will venture away from home to face off against Mooresville Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Eminence, they will head out to challenge Irvington Preparatory Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
