Baseball Game Preview: Northwest Webster Cougars vs. Sioux Central Rebels

Northwest Webster hasn't had much luck against Sioux Central recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cougars will square off against the Rebels at 7:30 p.m.

Northwest Webster is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of East Sac County. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by exactly two runs.

Meanwhile, Sioux Central was able to grind out a solid win over West Bend-Mallard on Saturday, taking the game 7-4. The victory continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won three in a row.

Sioux Central's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Northwest Webster, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Northwest Webster couldn't quite get it done against Sioux Central when the teams last played back in June of 2024 as they fell 7-2. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
