Preview: Sumter Gamecocks vs. Carolina Forest Panthers
Sumter has been on the road for nine straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. Having just played yesterday, they will get right back to it and host the Carolina Forest Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Sumter will be strutting in after a victory while Carolina Forest will be coming in after a loss.
Even though Hilton Head Christian Academy scored an imposing 63 points on Monday, Sumter still came out on top. Sumter secured a 67-63 W over Hilton Head Christian Academy.
Meanwhile, Carolina Forest came up short against Conway on Friday and fell 53-42. Carolina Forest has struggled against Conway recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Carolina Forest's defeat came about despite a quality game from Daniel Allen, who scored 25 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Allen has scored all season.
Sumter's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Carolina Forest, they bumped their record down to 4-10 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Sumter didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Carolina Forest in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 51-47 victory. Will Sumter repeat their success, or does Carolina Forest have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
