Basketball Game Preview: West Jefferson Panthers vs. Watersprings

After both having extra time off, the West Jefferson Panthers and Watersprings will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Having struggled with seven losses in a row dating back to last season, West Jefferson turned things around against Soda Springs last Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Cardinals 70-67. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Watersprings put another one in the bag last Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They had just enough and edged Council out 54-52. Given Watersprings' advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Council is ranked 71st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

West Jefferson's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Watersprings, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0.
